Fur Rondy go from February 25 to March 6 and it is a 75 yaer tradition in Anchorage . Last yaer me and the boys whent to the parade down town . We had a lot of fun . Fur Rondy the streets come alive with winter sports , Native art and Culture plus tons of events for everyone to enjoy. The Fur Rondy Festival is a singnificant part of the history and tradition of Anchorage in the mid 1930's Anchorage was just a small town of about 3,000 people that stretched between Park strip and Ship Creek . There were no televisions or malls or movie theaters no video games ,ipods or computers not even an Iditarod . Winters were brutal and stoking fires shoveling snowan surviving the elements was the basic daily pastime in those day .
We are going to have fun this yaer .
